Tie The Knot.

Perfectly exquisite wedding I would say. Not because of its lavish traditional-Malay setting for the ceremony. And not because it is broadcasted on TV3 news and Nona show, either. It is something like hmm, you know, being exquisite for portraying the beauty of Malaysian culture in one single wedding ceremony.

Leaded by a group of divine Malay dayang(s), the newlyweds donning full songket apparels were accompanied by their Indian bridesmaid and groomsman donning saree and dhoti ensembles accordingly, followed by their Chinese family members in full suits and cheongsam-esque gowns as they all made ways to the bridal dais.

Malay buffet, Malay silat, Malay zapin dance, Malay emcee (with Malay language all the way long)- you name it. They had all Malay elements mixed in throughout the ceremony, and they even had Malay nasyid played during the ceremony! And instead of having swanky bi-layer tri-layer cake as people commonly choose, they had 3 layers of pulut kuning to replace the typical one.

I reckon the best part of this wedding is not entirely for its extravagant set-ups, but it is beyond that in fact. The guest list; the one that unites us all main races within those four hours, hence leaving a heartfelt 1 Malaysia kind of feeling at that very moment. Chinese, Indian, and Malay in one single wedding ceremony- tell me what makes better idea than this in today's world full of racism all over the place.

Congrats once again, Kak May Choo and Abang Alvin!

p.s. The bride was mami's student some time ago, and she still gets excited every time she gets to meet her teacher. While for me, forever it goes like, "Cikgu kita ke tu eh? Lupa." Pfft, nyanyuk much, Aida. *rolls eyes*

There you go; one shameless (and awkward) wefie to end this post :')

  1. Their in-house catering is remarkable. The food at Seattle Wedding venues was delicious. So many of our guests (including and especially the foodies) have told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. The service too was impeccable but not overly formal.
