The Story of A Hijaber.
Remembering her facial expression when she first saw me without the head scarf on (that was inadvertently shown), I can't help but to keep on grinning. Read, "she", meaning to say it's a girl. A girl looking at another girl and yet she was totally astounded. Not because of that external factor or something called beauty (lol I'm too far from it), but it's because of the fact that I'm a hijaber - donning my hijab 24/7 whenever and wherever I have to, and I tell you what, I am proud to do so.
"You know some Muslim girls don't wear the head scarves because they don't want to. It's like, you're wearing your hijab and so, it is hijab-ing your beauty. Something like that."
I chuckled over her statements. Well it's a Non-Muslim questioning the "Did-Islam-teach-you-that" act of certain Muslim girls. "Don't you wanna go out and show to the world out there how beautiful you are without your scarf? I mean like, it's your option after all whether or not to cover your hair and all that. Am I right?"
Listen guys and girls, Muslims and Non-Muslims. Islam is beautiful in its own way. It tries to protect the beauty of those beautiful gems by any means. And women are just too valuable in Islam they are actually protected in a way such that they have to cover their aurah. As simple as that.
Girls, covering your aurah doesn't mean it's concealing your beauty. Obscuring your comeliness. Unless you're wearing a wig and that's the most alluring thing you have to display to others =P Wearing your scarf on and off anyway just doesn't seem right no matter what the reason is.
And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their head covers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
(Surah Al-Nur 24:31)I wonder how a guy actually feels upon seeing her wife for the first time ever, without the head scarf and all that. Immensely privileged. And special perhaps. Because the most valuable thing of a woman is only meant for someone who is special enough to win her heart and become her husband. And aurah, is certainly to be covered because it is too precious for a free public display. So value it girls. Tutuplah aurat, bukannya membuka aurat, mahupun membungkus aurat.
Good night.
