The Running Kurkur (Kura Kura)

November; and we are reaching the end of 2017 real soon people. Time flies indeed, but I’m pretty sure it travels with private jets rather than commercial airplanes these days ahha!

Hello beautiful souls (saying this merely because you are reading this gibberish post now keke)! I have started joining a few runs this year itself, so I guess it is worth of writing this time around. No if you think I really have the athletic passion for running some sort, you are wrong. Hence the given post title; I am as slow as a tortoise when it comes to running, but I still want to run whenever I have the chance to.

I am neither athletic nor fit enough to get myself involved with any kinds of sports or oh well, for every single physical activity, basically. Loser much, I know right. But it struck me early this year that it might be a good idea to actually give it a try in sports, or jogging to the very least – because my weight starts to increase after five years of being underweight and it just doesn’t feel like stopping to increase ever since.

So that was how I first grew the interest in joining runs with hope that I would be more active in the future. 15th April 2017 RM45 Krispy Kreme Joy Run; that marked my very first official run this year. Joined it for fun in the first place, yeah because it was indeed a fun run, but the fun just doubled for its goodies people! Krispy Kreme doughnuts (that’s my first time ever trying it and I just love it there and then), free t-shirts (got an extra for making it for the top 100 women category), and a goody bag full of snacks and beverages and vouchers and skincare stuff (ohmygawd tell me how not to get stoked by it). 5 km within 30 minutes, without training and warm-ups whatnots – pretty sure I had an extreme sugar rush on that very day. Thank you UM, that was indeed a good hilly sweaty run to celebrate my birthday morning!

19th August 2017 RM50 Larian Sukan SEA 2017; my next 5 km fun run but I frankly can’t recall much on this run except for the fact that it was not a good one for me personally. It took me about 50 minutes (or more) to complete it and considering it a big event in conjunction with SEA games marathon, you can imagine the sea of people (okay that’s a bit exaggerated), the pond of people flooding Dataran Putrajaya and, less free stuff in their goody bag (there’s a banana in it though). Guess that explains my overall not-that-interesting comment on the run, I suppose?

So the latest run, the one that I enjoy most probably; 29th October 2017 RM65 Nivea Care Run. 35 minutes back on steady momentum to complete the 5 km KOSA Putrajaya track. Three hours with relentless bosting activities (the Zumba session was just fantastic) and a goody bag full of Nivea stuff and not to mention their photo contest prize to conclude the excitement- voila, it feels like I’ve just won the lottery! I mean not in terms of cash, but the value of the whole free stuff is like double or even triple the registration fee that I had to pay in the beginning of it. “Can I have the last (shameless) selfie, maybe?”- A quick celebrity-YES answer that brought me to the first place for their Insta Contest (for being the potato Siti Aida standing close enough to the goddess Siti Saleha). Cheers for the likes, Instagrammers!

p.s.
Can we join more runs with more free gifts and more celebrities to selfie with in the future, kakak? šŸ˜ŒšŸ˜‚
